Fewer REO foreclosure listings available in Deltona

REO foreclosure listings have accounted for more than half of the sales reported in Deltona from January 1-July 31st of this year. The reports I have found indicate 916 homes sold during this period in Deltona with 467 of these homes being listed as REO foreclosure homes.
Buyers could face intense competition for an REO foreclosure home they are interested in purchasing throughout the rest of the year with the active inventory as of August 9 reporting only 54 REO foreclosure listings available out of the 554 active homes being reported for sale.
Traditional homes (sellers with equity) and short sale listings account for nearly an equal share of the active inventory with 242 and 258 respectively as of today.

There will be one less store to shop for groceries in Deltona if Winn-Dixie follows through with plans to close the store located at 1200 Deltona Blvd., in Deltona.
The Deltona store is one of several the company plans to close by September 22,2010 for under performance. The announcement can be found on the companies website under the upcoming store closures tab.

The City of Deltona is hosting a Fireworks Extravaganza on Sunday, July 4th, 2010. This exciting 4th of July event will be held at the Dewey O. Boster Sports Complex 1200 Saxon Blvd.
Times are:
6:00 – 9:00 p.m. – Kids’ activities
7:00 – 10:00 p.m. – Live Band
9:15 p.m. – Fireworks Display

More home sellers in Deltona were able to accomplish their goal in May. 153 units are reported as closing in May of this year according to the latest MLS statistics. The number of homes sold this May out paced last year where 106 homes were reported as selling in May of 2009. Likewise May 2010 sales increased over April 2010. April saw 147 units closed.
